Cool phone photos

I notice some of the ad Google’s Adsense puts up on my page are for NASA ring tones. Well, that doesn’t really interest me. I sort of like my phone to sound like a phone so that I know that it is ringing and not some other sound (there are sometimes lots of noises going on around me).
But, I ran across this over at one of NASA’s web pages. Just imagine. You could have a space image on your cell phone.
If you click on the image at the web site that I linked from here, then you’ll get information on each image. If you want one, then the cost is about $2 per image (plus whatever charges your cell phone carrier tacks on for sending the image to the phone).
My phone doesn’t support this, but if it did, I’d give it some thought, since these pictures are much more interesting than the ones that came with the phone.

NOAO just added some images designed as backgrounds for the iPhone. So, for all five people who have an iPhone, they can be found here. Plus they’re pretty even if you don’t have a phone.

$2?
That’s ghetto as all I could just email the image I liked to my phone, add it to the phone album and make it a background.
Cost of text message: 10 cents.
Cost of promoting space: Priceless.

Yes, it would very easy to format the photo to fit properly on the phone. I think that the pre-prepared $2 ones are for those who don’t know how to do that.

Don’t most phones come with bluetooth these days?
Just use that to transfer the image. No need to pay 10 cents for that.

Hey wait a second. I’ve already paid for those pictures: I’ve been paying Federal taxes for over twenty years.
$1.99 is a lot of money for a few bits of imagery. Use, shipping and handling I’ve got no problem with that but it seems a little excessive.
But I am a cheap bast***. Time to find the cable for my cell phone and fool around with loading pictures on it from my laptop.

yea.. just use blue tooth and put it on for free..
google image’s works very easily, and if you don’t know how to resize an image you probably shouldn’t be on a computer…
