Scott sent me some more eclipse photos, along with permission to post them here.  He got some better ones than I did.

The first one is of the moon as it is being eclipsed, and the second one is of the moon almost completely eclipsed.

And, here is one of the Moon totally eclipsed:

One shot that I wanted to get, but didn’t get a chance because it would take too long of an exposure for my hand held photos was to get the Moon and Saturn in the same photo.  But, Scott got that, too:

    Excellent shots!

I have one with the Moon, Saturn, Regulus and Algieba, all in the same shot!

    Check it out!

Those are great for handheld photos!

You might like some of the ones my wife took, finally posted to my blog. She got a great sequence before totality (I was off at one of those silly work-related meetings) and lots more like these during totality.

My only complaint was that the ISO did not get bumped up from what was used for the brighter ones, but they came out pretty good.

So that was Regulus above the moon? I’m moderately clueless looking at our generally hazy and light polluted sky. Is it bluish? [Post answer to my blog, please.] There was a definite bluish cast to it when I was looking at it in full resolution within Photoshop.

Our neighbour came out an hour before dawn with her €100 small “intelligent” digital camera which calculates aperture and exposure times itself. Zoomed it to the max.
The camera then took its eclipse photo, and, because it was still so dark, fired the flash ;-)

    Duh!
