I’ve been hacked!

Oh, this really gets me mad.
Some $##$#** has hacked into Astroprof’s Page. They inserted all sorts of hidden spammy links. That screwed up the Google ads, and has had them having spammy pages advertised. I am working on that. But, what really gets me is that someone would actually bother to screw around with my site. Years ago, the internet used to be a wonderful thing. But, all these people who do illegal activities, spamming, altering other people’s web sites, and so forth, have made the internet a place to be careful.
So, many of my links are down as I try to fix things. I updated to a later form of Wordpress, and hopefully that will help. But, this really irks me that I have to spend time doing this.
I had put off updating because I had read reports of people who had problems, like my blogroll disappearing. But, the bad people out there took advantage of me. Also, I’ve noticed that the update inserted some characters in older posts. It changes the look and feel of posting, and I need to get used to that. So, it may be a while until I get the hang of things. It also messes up some other fixes that I had done to the site.

Hey Astroprof,
I feel your pain! Having your account hacked is not fun, although fortunately you discovered it before they could do even more damage to your site.
If you need any help, let me know as I can contact some WordPress friends who may be able to help you out (if they are free).

These things are always automated, so don’t take it personally. Just try to keep WordPress up-to-date — in my experience as a hosting provider it’s one of the most often exploited systems (due to its popularity).
